- Beth BMy husband and I live in New Iberia, and for years we've been trying to find a really good Sunday BBQ. A Bears in New Iberia has great BBQ, but they only serve it on Thursdays, and if you don't call by 10:30 am you're pretty much out of luck trying to get white meat. I say this only because for the last few years we have tried BBQ all over the area trying to find something even half as good. Today we tried Dax on Verot, and FINALLY found great Sunday BBQ. Although the restaurant is small, it has great atmosphere. I would have liked for the chicken to be a little bigger, but you can't beat the taste. I would definitely drive the 30 miles to buy it again.
- Stewart CSo I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. It's right around the corner from my clinic. I went in today - a gloomy, rainy Monday - and got DELICIOUS food that was wonderful and brightened the day! I had the lunch special for today, which was chicken stew. It. Was. Stellar! Thick gravy, very flavorful, a large serving and it "stuck to my ribs". At less than $10 for the stew, two sides and a roll, it was well worth the price! I look forward to trying even more of their menu items. Do your stomach a favor and visit Dax on Verot!
